Sometime in early 2009, a newly laid off video game artist (Adam) decided to make an iPhone game. He worked on some concepts (and a lot of artwork) until he thought he found a simple and appealing game. He couldn’t find any programmers with both the skills and time willing to do it, so he shelved it and did contract art for other iPhone developers.

Meanwhile, several thousand kilometers away, a newly unemployed computer security engineer (Dominique) finally decided to listen to his 13-year-old-self and become a video game coder. He knew some friends that had published successful iPhone apps so he decided to start there. He bought himself a Mac, read a borrowed Cocoa book twice, and started making practice apps.

One day, Adam got an email for some quotes for artwork – but the questions were a little more clever than usual. He just might have finally found his programmer.

Dominique wasn’t completely sure if he was ready for it and almost said no. But here we are.
